Strengthening Communities

REACH Niagara provides low-barrier, judgment-free healthcare. We bring comprehensive care and service directly to shelters, food bank services, domestic violence shelters, and other community organizations through our health clinics. We see people directly in their time of need.

Benefits of Community Care

Reduced Emergency Department Visits

Making primary care accessible can help reduce unnecessary visits to emergency departments. This is largely due to timely health management and education.

The use of Community Health Centres saved Ontario an estimated $27 million worth of emergency department visits in 2022.

Reduced overdoses
and EMS calls

Similar community-based programs in areas with a higher likelihood of calling paramedics have shown the ability to significantly reduce these emergency services calls.

Improved overall community well-being

Providing equitable care goes beyond the result of healthier people. It has several social, societal, and even economic impacts.

Our Programs

Our multidisciplinary approach.

Building trust and maintaining relationships with our clients is a top priority. It is vital for REACH Niagara to operate our clinics on a consistent basis in order to guide our clients on their journey to better physical wellness and housing security. Through our team of dedicated physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, case managers, peer and system navigators our focus is on providing services that help restore dignity and respect to our clients. Consistent funding is key in our ability to effectively serve our clients.

Make a Difference

The sad reality facing Niagara is the rapid growth of homelessness and the medically underserved. Ontario’s doctor shortage is especially felt here in our community. Niagara is well above the provincial average and this shortage disproportionately, negatively affects the homeless and marginalized populations. REACH Niagara cannot keep up with serving everyone who needs care within our region. We need your help.

Our organization is funded through multiple sources. We currently have no source of base funding. In order to sustain our clinics and expand our services into the areas of greatest need, we rely on donors of all sizes. Monthly and one time donations help keep our programs running strong and staffed with experienced, licensed professionals.
